¶ Overview
Starboard allows your members to highlight the best posts by reacting. Once a post reaches a certain number of reactions, Dyno will repost it into the Starboard channel for everyone to see.
Permissions Check
- Make sure that Dyno has these permissions in your Starboard channel:
View ChannelManage WebhooksSend MessagesEmbed LinksAdd ReactionsLimits to keep in mind:
The maximum Star Count is 50.
¶ How to set up Starboard
- Head over to your account and select your server.
- Click on the
Modulestab. - Ensure the
Starboardmodule is enabled. - Click the
Settingsbutton underneath the Starboard module. - Set your
Star Count(the number of stars it takes for a post to be posted in the starboard channel). - Select whether you want Dyno to
Ignore Self Stars(When users react with a star to their own messages, Dyno will not count it toward the Star Count). - Select whether you want Dyno to
React to Starboard Post(This will allow users to further increase the star count from the Starboard channel.) - (Premium) Choose a
Custom Emojiif you’d like to use something other than a
. - Choose the
Starboard Channel(where you want highlighted posts to go). - Next, choose any
Ignored RolesandChannelsthat you want. Dyno will then ignore any star reactions made by users with those roles and messages in those channels. - (Premium) If you want to change the
Embed Color, you may do so. You can set it to use the same color each time, the color of the poster’s highest role, or a random color each time.
Then, you’re all set. Enjoy!
If Dyno does not have the Administrator permission, make sure Dyno has the Manage Webhooks, View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links, and Add Reactions permissions in your starboard channel(s).

¶ Custom Thresholds
Custom thresholds allows you to add custom overrides for thresholds, which allows you to choose a different star count for a specific channel.
- On the Starboard module page, find the “Custom Thresholds” tab.
- Select the channel you’d like to set a custom star count for.
- Type the new star count and click Add.
- Profit!
¶ Secret Starboards
Secret Starboard requires Dyno Premium. Click here to upgrade to Premium.
Secret starboards allows you to add a custom starboard channel other than the main starboard channel and channels following that channel (can be helpful for hidden starboards). When a channel is added as a secret starboard, the channel will no longer contribute to the main starboard.
- On the Starboard module page, find the “Secret Starboards” tab.
- Select the channel that would be the secret starboard (such as #staff-starboard).
- Select the channels you want to follow that secret starboard channel (such as #staff-chat, #staff-commands, etc…)
- And you’re done!

¶ Troubleshooting Steps
- Make sure Dyno has the permissions specified here.
- Keep in mind any reactions from bots (including Dyno) will not count towards your star count.
- Make sure you aren’t testing in an ignored channel or have an ignored role.
- Check if you have set up any
Custom Thresholdsor aSecret Starboard.
